PLAY BALL!
Chef Nick and friends
will be joining our local Little Leaguers for the Opening Day parade
through Grantville on
Saturday morning, March 19. Nick's
will be offering a free Team Pizza Party for every Little League home run
this season!
On Sunday afternoon,
April 10, we're heading across the state line to watch the Montgomery
Biscuits take on the Greenville Braves (current team for metro-Atlanta's
Jeff Francouer.) Tickets are only ten bucks! We'll be ordering
tickets the week of March 28. If you would like to join us, drop by the
shop with payment before close of business on Saturday, March 26.
We're also planning to
catch some Catfish games in Columbus this season. Let us know if you want
to be part of the fun!
LUNCH AT NICK'S
Beginning with Little
League Opening Day, March 19, Nick's will be open for lunch on Saturdays through the end of April.
(Exception: April 23) Saturday lunch hours will be the same
as Friday lunch, 11:30 - 1:30 p.m. We'll offer gator pies, full size
pizza, cheese steak sandwiches and salads for dine-in and take-out (no
delivery.) We encourage you to call ahead to place orders, particularly if
you are feeding a large group.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Nick's offers "make-your-own pizza" parties for children
ten and younger. A 90-minute party for twelve guests (12 make-your-own
gator pies and 12 drinks) plus one 16" MeatLovers pizza and 2-liter drink
for adult hosts is $95. We'll provide paper supplies for pizza and cake,
music and access to the store a half hour before the party for decorating.
Packages with cakes, decorations and/or kids games are also available.
Parties must be scheduled at least three weeks in advance. Please contact
kim@nickspizzastop.com for
more information.
NEW AT NICK'S
Nick's now offers a
variety of other games for the enjoyment of dine-in customers. Chess
and Backgammon boards have been painted on tables (thank you, Scott
Palmer.) Game pieces and other games are available
from your server or at the ordering counter.
We are
currently
in a trial period of accepting Visa and MasterCard. A minimum purchase applies
and the card must be presented at our counter for processing (no
"signature on file" or telephone transactions.) Until further
notice, we will not accept any cards on Friday evenings.
Look for the next print edition of Nick's News coming via U.S. Mail in
April. We'll be updating our year-old menu and telling you about our
summer celebration of the 100th Birthday of the American Pizza. New menu
items to look for include pizzadillas
- Nick's Italian version of the quesadilla - as well as Gondola Pizza
(French-bread style pizzas) and the Meatlover McGee (our famous
meatlovers pizza with twice the meat!).
WEDDING BELLS FOR MIGHTY MIKE
Our head cook, Michael Cronic, is well-known to many of you through his
years of service to previous owners of our restaurant. Micheal is
getting married on April 23 and we would like to put together a collection
of "well wishes" from customers. If you would like to contribute, please
send your wishes to
kim@nickspizzastop.com or give them to Kim at the counter before April
15. We are counting on you to help us keep this a surprise...Micheal never
surfs the Internet, so he won't know unless somebody tells him!
JOIN THE NICK'S TEAM
We are currently hiring
weekend dining room and kitchen help. Restaurant experience is preferred
but not required. Applicants must be 18 or older and a reliable car is required as both positions will entail
occasional delivery responsibilities. Walk-in applications will not be
accepted. Please call 678-641-2170 or send inquiries to
nickspizzastop@mindspring.com.

LET YOUR VOICE BE
HEARD!
Please make a point of completing the
Coweta County Comprehensive Planning Citizens Survey. Paper surveys must
be submitted before the end of March - copies are available at Nick's, the
post office, city hall and local fire stations. An online version of the
survey is available at
http://www.coweta.ga.us/survey/. And please attend the Visioning
meeting at Grantville School on April 28 at 6:30 p.m. (doors open 6:00.)
If you have Grantville-specific concerns, whether or not they are related
to the county-wide issues addressed in the survey, please join a grassroots
effort to "get people talking" so that we can formulate clear messages to
be heard at the local level. It's also a great opportunity to meet other
concerned residents! Please see
www.grantville.net/gap for
more information regarding this online venue for constructive discussion
of issues relating to our growing community.
Northern Meriwether County residents, a
local activism group has been organized in your area. Look for more
information in your local newspapers - details will be posted at
www.grantville.net when they are
available. You can email your name and contact information to
kim@grantville.net if you want the
organizers to keep you in the loop.
If you have an interest in joining a
discussion group for "mom-and-pop" businesses in Grantville, Hogansville,
Luthersville, Moreland and other nearby towns between Newnan and LaGrange,
please write to kim@grantville.net.
This group will explore ways we can help each other thrive despite the
growing number of major chain businesses in western Georgia.
WEB CONNECTIONS
Each month
we'll also post the URL for websites of interest to Grantville area
