Greetings from Nick’s Pizza Stop

…and welcome to the November 2004 edition of Nick’s E-News.

Wow! It’s been a while since you have received an email from us….you and your neighbors have kept us very busy these past few months!

Thanksgiving takes on another layer of significance for us as we approach our first holiday season as restauranteurs. We are blessed with spectacular employees and enthusiastic support from many loyal customers. We truly appreciate all of you!

We're Making History
The "We're Making History" coffee club meets Wednesday, November 17, 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. to talk about local area history. This month's general topic is "Holidays in Grantville," but we'll go wherever the conversation takes us! Free coffee is provided. RSVPs are encouraged but not required.

Gift Certificates and Credit Cards at Nick’s
Nick’s Gift Certificates are now available! Certificates purchased with cash will be sold at a 10% discount (example: a $25 certificate for $22.50). After December 1, Nick’s will accept credit cards for gift certificates purchased at face value.

Also after December 1, we will accept credit cards for purchases paid at our check-out counter (delivery drivers will accept only cash or checks.) A minimum purchase amount will apply for credit cards.

Nick’s Specials
As our menu expands, we will be offering more featured menu items and fewer “daily pizza specials.” However, we will continue to offer the 2-4-6 Pizza Special every day through the end of the year. (2 Large Pizzas, 4 Regular Toppings. 6 canned drinks for $24.60.)  Our Specialty pizzas are always “on special” and their regular menu pricing reflects at least one free topping.

Warm Up Your Winter!
….With a taste of the Mediterranean. Beginning November 15 through November 30, we’ll feature Nick’s Greek Sub, with black olives & onions sautéed with gyros meat (lamb and beef with Greek seasonings,) topped with tomatoes and feta cheese with your choice of creamy Tzatziki sauce or mayonnaise. Gyros meat will also be available as a topping for salads and pizza. Gyros, Greek Salads, Baklava, Greek Stix and Grecian Delight Pizza are all on our regular menu.

Family Nights at Nick’s
Beginning December 1 and continuing through the end of the year, each Wednesday we’ll be featuring holiday music, festive lighting, and family games until 8:00 p.m..  Bring the whole gang for spaghetti and meatballs served family-style with salad and Nick’s Stix (Bread Stix, Cheese Stix or Garlic Stix,) or choose your family favorites from our regular menu. All dine-in entrees include free iced tea on Family Night.

More choices on Pasta Night!
By popular demand, Nick’s will begin offering Alfredo sauce (creamy white sauce) for our Tortellini dishes in December.  Stuffed Shells (ricotta cheese and spinach) will also be added to the Tuesday Pasta Night line-up.  Nick’s stuffed shells will be available with Alfredo, marinara, or meat sauce. As with all other pasta entrees, Stuffed Shells will be served with garlic bread and a side salad. Our selection of pasta dishes are available Tuesdays for take-out or dine-in, with full table service between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Our new Pasta Night menu will be effective Tuesday, December 7.

Candlelight Coffee
After 8:00 p.m. every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday after 8:00 p.m. in December and January.  Enjoy coffee, cocoa or hot tea with a delightful dessert while watching the soft glow of candlelight dancing across the “ghost murals” in our dining room. Each Candlelight Coffee night we’ll be featuring one or more delightful desserts  - flavored cheesecake, baklava, cinnamon stix, biscotti or cannoli.

Delivery News

Many of you have already noticed the new “Nick’s” car-topper on Mike’s delivery car – we hope the bright light will help you see him coming!  We will also begin phasing in some new packaging to make delivery and take-out even more convenient, and ensure your food is hotter and fresher than ever before.

With more and more residents discovering Nick’s, Mike and his weekend assistant, Leigh Ann, are increasingly popular.  Due to pressing demand, we’ve formally extended our eastern delivery service to include Jennie Estates, Lowry Road and Bradbury Road (between Lowry and Hwy 29) and with the completion of bridgework on Grandma Branch we now service “both ends” of that road.   If you have experienced delays in delivery, we appreciate your patience.

Occasionally, delivery volume has been so high that some of you have answered your door to find Chef Nick himself standing there with your dinner!  Pulling Nick from the kitchen is not often an option, so we ask your assistance in moving our drivers along.  You can help Mike and Leigh Ann by putting out visible and correct house numbers, lighting yards and porches, promptly answering the door, and having payment ready.  One other very important item – please restrain your pets when expecting a delivery. Even “friendly” dogs are a problem for drivers handling large bags of food!

Happy HollyDaze from Nick’s!

Nick’s will be closed on Thanksgiving Weekend (Thursday – Saturday) and will reopen for regular service on Tuesday, November 30.

On Sunday, December 5, check out the Holiday Parade on the square in Newnan. As business partner to Grantville School, we are excited about the “Christmas in Italy” parade float presented by the school. Nick’s is also a proud sponsor for Brownie Girl Scout Troop #13, and “our” Brownies will be participating in the parade as well.

The following Sunday, December 12, the Grantville Historic Preservation Commission presents the Holiday Tour of Historic Grantville. This year’s “tour of homes” will also include a driving tour, and the HPC encourages all residents, especially those of you in the historic district, to decorate your homes and lawns for tour goers.  Tickets for the tour will be sold at Nick’s from 12:30 to 4:30, and “Miss Ceci” will be on hand with storytelling, songs and other seasonal entertainment for children.

Nick’s will be closed on Christmas Weekend (Thursday – Saturday) and New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Coming Soon to a Mailbox Near You

Nick’s will be sending another print newsletter (with coupons!) to Grantville residents soon. The mailer will also include messages and discounts from other local shops.  Please support your “hometown” businesses and other independent merchants this holiday season.

buona fortuna su voi
