Greetings from Nick's Pizza Stop

…..and welcome to the February 2006 edition of Nick’s E-News

Greetings from Chef Nick!

Kim is busy with her new job as Manager of Marketing & Communications for CTR Group, a national recruiting firm. We have not yet worked out the details for handling future issues of "Nick's News," which Kim traditionally prepares. For now, I'm sending this "note" out as a brief update of  goings-on at Nick's Pizza Stop in February.

We have three important highlights to mention:

February 14th marks our first ever Valentine's Day Feast at Nick's.  We have some tables left for couples wishing to share in the candlelit fine dining
experience planned for the night. It is a celebration of the loving relationships we have here in Grantville.  If you would like to treat your significant other to a unique Grantville treat, contact Kim or Nick at Nick's Pizza Stop, 770-583-2240, or email us at kim@nickspizzastop.com. Couples are $55 for full 4 course meal (including stuffed roast pork loin or stuffed game hen in Apple Cider Glaze). A rose and souvenir menu will be provided. You are welcome to bring wine for your personal consumption. Seating at 7:00 (dinner served at 7:30 p.m.).

Please note that we will not be open for regular business on February 14.

Saturday, February 18th, Nick's will serve a limited limited menu.  Scott Palmer and I am attending required training for new city government officers, but Kim & the remaining staff will remain open for business.  They will be serving pizza and wings only that night in order to assure that customers get the quality and service times you have all come to expect of us.  The limited menu will allow our smaller team to sell our finest food in the fastest times.  We ask humbly for your patience... the kitchen staff will be great, even short-handed.  If customer demand is particularly high that night, Kim may need to cut back delivery to assure reasonable delivery times.

Monday, February 27th, the City Council will hold a hearing on our application for Beer & Wine pouring license.  We have gotten feedback from
more and more customers that they would like the option to enjoy beer or wine with their meal when dining in.  We are cautious in that we want to
preserve a family friendly business and the foundation that we are a restaurant first and foremost.  We will be finalizing policies and adding staff before we begin any sort of wine or beer service.  We know this is a serious matter, and will approach it with the same professionalism you have experienced in our two years in business. If you should have any support or concerns for the decision on granting us a license, please let us know.  If you feel strongly enough to speak out publicly, please do attend the City council hearing during the 27th meeting . . . the meeting begins at 6 p.m. with hearing to be held some time during this meeting.

Other quick news....

We recommend Dwayne Cook of the newly opened Grantville Tax & Accounting downtown. Dwayne has been our accountant for a while now and we are excited he's joined the ranks of new downtown businesses! Dwayne will host a gathering of local business owners at 8 pm Sunday, February 26 sponsored by the Grantville Coalition of Independent Businesses. If you own a local business, please come meet other entrepreneurs in your community! RSVP to wdcook@grantvilletax.com.

New members of the Grantville Historic Preservation Commission will meet at Nick's this Saturday (Feb 11) for a walk-through of the downtown district and a brief introduction to historic preservation topics. Those interested in protecting Grantville's historic resources are encouraged to attend.

We've heard from a customer-mom who is interested in forming a Grantville Kid's Play Group and getting to know other stay-at-home moms in the neighborhood. Please drop a note to kim@nickspizzastop.com for forwarding to this customer.

A reminder that Nick's is a local distributor for Lifestyles Magazine and Newnan-Coweta Magazine, both free and excellent sources of information about your home county.

As always, we appreciate your business!

buona fortuna su voi
