Our
very first special events banquet!
Nick's
sponsored the Grantville School float in the 2005 Newnan Holiday Parade

At Citi-Fest 2006, Scott Palmer, Nick's cook
and artist-in-residence, created this amazing painting for display at
Nick's, along with a traveling exhibit of WWII posters on loan from the
Georgia Southern College Museum. The painting is currently on display
in the Grantville Police Department.
Building
"the new Nick's"
Mike Brown
(our former driver) labored long and hard with Nick, literally building
the
restaurant inside the old hardware store. Other Nick's team
members - Micheal Cronic, Scott Palmer, Casey Parks and Leighann Olson
took up hand tools, brooms and paintbrushes along the way and for that
we are very grateful.
We also had the good fortune to find some exceptional professionals - Jody Smith, Phoenix Fire, Charles Carmical, and Scott
Perkins - to handle some of the more challenging aspects of the
project. Two of our regular vendors - US Foods and Titan
Sanitation - helped ease the transition with exceptional personal
service.
However,
Nick's
Pizzeria would not be possible
without the many customers and friends who helped us in practical and
tangible ways....lifting, toting, hauling, storing, cleaning,
hammering, painting... and in a few
cases, surprising us with remarkable displays of
neighborliness.
(In no particular order)
Donna and Mark Phillips - Philip Welch - Billy Tucker -
Regeneia Smith - Darwin and Patti Palmer - Jody Smith - Jon Jenkins -
David Williams - Carl Bartz - Teresa and Jeff Potts - Jason O'Kelly -
Hayden Smith - Jim Sells - Paul and Bonnie Parker - Maryleigh Preston
McClure - Linda Bridges Kee - Bud Ramsey - Marybeth Jones - Deanne
& Mike Kwon - Tim Garmany - Marty Fedenko - Kim Hallman
- Debi Rogers - Brenda and Claude Raptis - and everyone who
responded to our email updates with cheery notes of encouragement!

Sixty or So
Die-Hard Nick's fans - the ones who've been driving by everyday and
religiously reading Kim's emails - give the Nick's staff a workout
during a 3 -hour "test drive." 75 pizzas, 80 pounds of wings,
20 hot sandwiches and a whole lotta smiles later, the Nick's
team is tired but very, very happy!

As City Councilman,
Nick observes that our city's ability to attract useful commercial
development, as well as our residents' quality of life,
are adversely affected by the neglected appearance of our community, particularly the poor condition of historic downtown
commercial properties.
